Who we are
PackZella is operations software for online retailers. It is run by Sahil Sekhon, trading as PackZella, in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: sahil.sekhon@packzella.com.
When a business uses PackZella, we process its data on its behalf and under its instructions. For that data the business decides how it is used, and we act for it. For our own business contacts (for example, emails sent to us) we decide how the data is used.
What we collect
- Account details: the names and email addresses of the people at a business who sign in to PackZella.
- Shop data: products, stock, listings and orders from the sales channels a business connects. Orders can include customers' names and delivery details, because the business needs them to fulfil orders.
- Advertising data, with the business's permission: from the business's own Google Ads and Meta ad accounts, we read account and campaign settings, budgets, ad and product performance (spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and revenue), and product feed labels. The ad platforms report these as totals. We do not ask them for information about the individual people who saw or clicked an ad.
- Sign-in tokens: the access tokens that Google and Meta issue so PackZella can read, and when confirmed, change, the business's ad accounts. We never ask for or store anyone's Google or Meta password.
How we use it
- To show the business its stock, orders, sales and advertising results.
- To suggest changes, such as pausing ads for products that are out of stock or adjusting a budget within limits the business sets.
- To make a change to an ad account only after a person at the business has confirmed that change. Every change is logged.
We do not sell data, use it for advertising of our own, or share one business's data with another.
Google and Meta data
PackZella's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data received from Meta's Marketing API is used only to provide the features above to the business that owns the ad account, in line with Meta's Platform Terms.
Who else handles the data
- Hosting and storage providers we use to run PackZella and keep backups (currently Cloudflare and Google Cloud).
- AI model providers (currently Anthropic) may receive summaries of performance figures in order to write plain-English explanations of suggested changes. We use their commercial services, which do not use this data to train their models.
- Anyone we are required by law to share data with.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
Data is stored on systems we run in the United Kingdom and with the providers above. Access is limited to the people who operate PackZella. Sign-in tokens are kept out of our source code and are never shown in reports or messages.
How long we keep it
- While a business uses PackZella, we keep its data for as long as it needs it for reporting.
- When a business disconnects an ad account, we delete that account's sign-in tokens straight away.
- When a business asks us to, we delete its advertising data within 30 days.
Removing PackZella's access
- Google Ads: in Google Ads, go to Admin → Access and security → Managers, and remove the PackZella manager account. You can also remove the PackZella app at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Meta: in Meta Business Settings, go to Partners and remove PackZella.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email sahil.sekhon@packzella.com. If your data came from a business that uses PackZella, you can also ask that business. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
